30,000 Foot Perspective On Dreams

Do Perspective and Dreams Go Hand-In-Hand?

Beautiful Queens, my name is Athena Cochrane a recent graduate of the Crowned 4 Success program. That means I am a Regional Vice President aka an RVP! Yay! I’m the owner of RelianceLegacy.com which is a personal growth blog. It’s designed to inspire ladies to align, grow and elevate on their way to finding their purpose. I’m going to consider myself your personal guide to finding your purpose.

How Big Are Your Dreams?

Today I want to talk about dreams! I think it’s very important to have a vision for our life. Dreams can be so much fun, but along the way when things start to get hard those dreams can turn into negative things for us. They become the “shoulda, woulda, coulda,” type conversations versus becoming reality conversations. During our time together, I’m going to do a 30,000-foot view of having the mindset to continue to keep our dreams alive.

I’m sure you have heard about manifestation, dream boards, law of attraction, the spoken word and everything and anything in between to help you believe in your dreams. What happens to our mindset when these things don’t happen when we think they will? We start to lose faith in one thing and then it becomes a domino effect on all of our other dreams. We tend to fall into a negative perspective that we can’t accomplish our dreams. I am guilty of this! How do we correct this mindset?

30,000 Foot Perspective

It’s all about perspective! Ultimately at the end of the day, we accept what we believe. If we believe that we won’t accomplish, let’s say having a successful start-up, then we won’t because you already have it made up in your mind that it won’t be a success. Even though you are working towards making it a success your subconscious already believes that it won’t be which leads to self-sabotage!

The industry I’ve been in, which is wholesale, I’ve heard business owners say, “I knew it was going to be good, but I didn’t know it would be that good!” I have to believe that they had the perspective that they weren’t going to fail and that whatever they were doing was going to be successful. They just didn’t picture it being that big. Which is awesome! We love when our dreams are bigger than what we expected. Needless to say, they already had a winning mindset about it.

“Changing your perspective starts with becoming self-aware”

One of my past mentors used to say, “when you change the way you see things, everything you see changes.” How are you looking at your dreams? Are you looking at them with doubt? Or with confidence? Since I was a little girl, I always dreamed of owning a GT 500 Shelby and for those of you who don’t know what it is, it’s a Ford Mustang with a racing power engine. It goes extremely fast and it sounds so nice! It makes me giddy thinking about it. I have never wavered once from this dream. In fact, it keeps getting better. But I have been very doubtful about having kids. A dream I had and never fully believed in.

I’m right there with you working on my belief about my dreams! It’s not something that can be taken lightly because if we lose our dreams and visions, we might as well be___… I’ll let you fill in the blank. I don’t know about you, but I am working on picking up my fallen domino about having kids because I don’t want it to affect my other dreams. I want to continue to believe that there is always a way to make something happen. If you want it bad enough, you will work for it going through and around all obstacles. I know I am! I will have my kids one day soon.

Your Dreams and Visions Can Make A Difference

Don’t leave your dreams in a “shoulda, coulda, woulda,” conversation. I once heard it said, “look around you, everything you see was once an idea. An idea that someone thought of, dreamt of and followed through on.” Now you and I are using those dreams that others once had. Put some action behind your words and dreams. Let’s make things happen and change not only our lives but the lives of those around us.
