We are in unprecedented times, in a state of flux and the unknown. In this article I will be sharing with you some facts about the virus, tips to help prevent the virus spread and what you can do to help yourself and others remain calm and allay fears through a powerful healing meditation.
Fear and worry are spreading through the country and the world. This energy is so destructive, that as a collective, that energy is incredibly powerful and if we remain in this state of fearfulness, we have the power to create further destruction. This impacts not only our mental, emotional and physical health, but also our relationships, our financial status, our work life, our lifestyle, and our vision of how we see the world.
If we wake in the moving and the first thing we do is reach for our phones or turn on the TV to see how much the virus has spread and feel fearful, out day will continue in that vain. As a law of attraction mentor, I am advising all my clients to visualise a brighter outcome. To wake in the morning and insist that all will be well, that our loved ones will be safe, that our businesses will recover and thrive, that our relationships remain strong. If we start our days with this outcome in mind, then it’s much more likely to turn out this way.
Likewise as a collective, if we remain calm and create a positive outlook – if we all visualise a positive outcome rather than a fearful and fateful one, if we all take responsibility for our actions; express gratitude for what we have and ask how we can help others; if we engage in a sense of purpose and recognise the opportunities here – the opportunities for growth, for stronger relationships, for compassion as a human race, for awakening; if we commit to a feeling of peace, and recognise how connected we all are and the beauty of that – WOW!!! Now that is a powerful message, and we each have the ability to do this. We each have the ability to send love and healing into our world, and get through this – together!
A few facts to start with which I obtained from the department of health, and as a healthcare professional as well as coach, I am briefed regularly:
a- the virus can live on hard surfaces for over 12 hours
b- it can live on soft surfaces (clothing etc.) for roughly 6 hours
c- airborne transmission is one of the main routes, through droplets from coughing or sneezing which can travel 3m distance
d- they believe it cannot survive at temperatures over 26-27 degrees Celsius (80 digress Fahrenheit)
e- the infection starts with a sore throat followed by fever (temperature over 37.8 degrees Celsius, 100.4 in Fahrenheit), and then a persistent cough. In most people this can present as very mild symptoms, less than flu
f- the death rate increases with age, with it being 0.2% in people in their 40’s, and increasing to 4-5 x more likely (which is still less than 1%) if in your 70s
g- It is most harmful in the vulnerable just like the flu virus – so medically compromised with pre-existing heart and lung conditions, and the elderly
That said, of course there are things we can do to help to reduce the spread – this is where our responsibility comes in and I’ll share those with you now:
1- wash your hands with soap and water, or alcohol hand rub for at least 20 seconds
2- wash your hands after touching your face, nose, eyes or eating food
3- wash your hands when you get into work
4- take a shower when you get home and put your clothes in the wash
5-blow your nose or sneeze into a tissue and dispose of it in a bin
6- cough or sneeze (if you don’t have a tissue) into your elbow
7- self quarantine if you have any symptoms – the incubation period is thought to be up to 14 days
8-exercise regularly to keep your immunity strong
9-consider supplementing with vitamin C, Zinc, and Vitamin D to help with immunity, but healthy eating and lifestyle keeps your immune system strong
10-meditate and practice mindfulness – be present and in the NOW, focus on the positive to keep a positive mindset, and help to calm others around you
Knowing there is something you can do helps to empower you, and this energy can spread to those around you. If you are calm and positive, those around you will be influenced in the same way and we can shift towards a more constructive situation. Of course your fears and concerns are real – you may be worrying about your loved-ones, your parents, friends, and your businesses, but taking yourself through the energy levels of consciousness: responsibility, forgiveness, service, gratitude, opportunity, purpose, peace, connection – shifting from a mindset of “I lose” to “everybody wins” is what will help get us through this challenging time.
