It’s Already Inside

Yesterday morning I woke up knowing that everything I needed was already inside. As I went through my morning meditation the mantra I repeated was “I stand on the shoulders and walk in the footprints of those who came before me. I am built FOR and FROM Greatness.”

I am not sure how you feel about meditation but what I can tell you is that this very moment was one of the most enlightening and freeing moments for me. The foundation has been laid out for me and my job is to now pick up the torch and continue to move forward with the work that must be done. During my mediation I pictured myself literally standing on the shoulders of Martin, Sojourner, Harriette, Maya, and Malcolm. I saw MLK, as I physically stood on his shoulders, look up at me and say, “You were made for this. You were built from greatness.” It was a beautiful moment but so empowering and reassuring as well.

Now I know that every step I take and every move I make should be to empower and inspire. I am reassured that I am on the right track. Even when I feel like no one is listening or watching I am constantly reminded that they are…they may not speak and they may not comment but they are watching. I received a message in my “others” folder on Facebook and it was someone telling me how they related to my story and how we were similar in so many ways. If she had not messaged me I would have never known. I can only imagine how many others have come across my page or a positive post that impacted them in some way. I can only PRAY it has.

I am here to tell you not to stop. The work you are doing means so much to so many even if they never mumble a single word. Stay focused and continue to inspire and empower because you too walk in the footprints and stand on the shoulders of those who came before you. There is a race to run and there is no time to look back and surely no time to stumble. Every single thing you need IS ALREADY INSIDE OF YOU! Tap into that talent and greatness so you can share it with the world.

This was on my heart today so I decided to share.

  1. I thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog this morning. You allowed me to see the greatness in me as well and encouraged me to continue this race that’s set before me. I wasn’t to encourage you to keep telling your story and empower women because it’s necessary.
